Trinity Properties was founded in 1976 by a Duke graduate (B.A. and Ph.D.) to provide off campus housing to Duke University Graduate and Undergraduate Students.
Until the late 1960’s, Duke University provided on campus housing to all Undergraduate Students, and the Graduate Student population was relatively small.
The 1970’s and 80’s saw a dramatic rise in the overall Duke student population without a concomitant growth in Student Housing. At the same time, the Durham community was not particularly receptive to housing students off campus near the University. The Undergraduate population rose from 4,000 students to 6,500. While a sizable portion of the Junior Class studies abroad, most of the returning students and a number of the senior class students chose to live off campus.
While Duke has improved the on-campus living choices for Undergraduate Students, we continue to focus our services on Duke and it students. All of our locations are within walking distance of the Duke Campus.
We serve many International Students in our Graduate programs, and we are proud to have Trinity Properties’ good reputation known in such far flung locales as Beijing, Bombay and Santiago, Chile.
In the new millenium, Trinity Properties branched out to North Carolina State University in Raleigh and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At North Carolina State, we found the glaring need for apartments with a great location and a reasonable rental rate that were well maintained. We bought Gorman Crossing with these three objectives in mind. In January 2007 we added our neighbor, Kensington Park Apartments on Avent Ferry Road, to our collection.
While Trinity Properties has grown to meet demand, we are still a family owned operation based in the Research Triangle, North Carolina.
We provide good, clean housing in a great location, renovated for today’s high technology, yet that is a very good value in our market. We know that your parents are concerned about your safety above all else. We have rented to many of our friends’ children. And we have college-aged children as well. We treat everyone as though they were children of our friends who deserve special care and service.
